Family Selection Committee
An interest in working with populations in need of affordable housing and the ability to sensitively interact with applicants are assets to joining this committee. Members work together to:
- distribute applications and outreach materials throughout the community;
- receive and evaluate applications, credit reports and conduct home visits to meet with families in need;
- help select partner families and track their required 500 hours of sweat equity before home occupancy;
- organize and conduct the groundbreaking and home dedication ceremonies; and
- support families to become successful home owners and to establish links to their communities.
